History of Vanair

It’s not easy to start a new industry…

…but that’s what Vanair did when it developed the PTO driven vehicle-mounted rotary screw air compressor. Founded in 1972, we have grown from a small subsidiary known as Sullair PTO to a privately owned and operated company that is the world’s largest manufacturer of vehicle-mounted air compressors, generators, Air N Arc® ALL-IN-ONE Power Systems®, welders and battery boosters. Today, we have in field an excess over 100,000 units in operation and distribution worldwide.

From the beginning, Vanair has always maintained a highly qualified and skilled workforce and counts engineering and application development as a core part of the business. Our in-house engineering staff is focused on continuous product improvement and customizing innovative products to provide mobile power solutions for our customers.

In December 2008, Vanair celebrated the opening of their state-of-the-art, 60,000 square foot manufacturing facility with 40 acres available for future growth. Manufactured in the USA, Vanair products are utilized in a wide range of industries, including gas, electric and telecommunication utilities, municipalities, general and underground construction, pipeline and sewers, irrigation, and the Department of Defense.
